General Conference 2011

Welcome General Conference 2011.

Before it begins, I remind myself of these two promises of past conferences:

"The fact that you are listening now is evidence that God recognizes your great importance and that you have chosen to walk in the light He offers you.  I promise you that within the next few days you will feel the illumination of the Spirit of Christ and the Holy Ghost in your everyday life."

The talks we are about to hear are for a worldwide audience, yet somehow they speak directly to me.  I believe President Eyring's promise, that as we listen intently to the messages of God's servants this weekend, as we take note of them with the intent to act and change, God will pour out His spirit upon us, strengthening us to choose the right and accomplish the things we are sent here to do.
