Thunderstorms. Love them. Even in the middle of the night with howling winds, beating rain, and winds that just knocked over our neighbor's brand new grill. No, I haven't slept at all
(it's 3:05), but it's alright...because I love storms
(okay, a few winks of sleep wouldn't hurt...)
Of course, the thunder and lightning and anticipation are keeping me up, but so are the other 2 little bodies that have rushed into our room to be comforted :)
(so far, Addison is still soundly sleeping into oblivion.)
So we made a little bed on the floor beside us for Carter and Alana to lay on...and I am now awake just listening to Carter comfort Alana.
Alana: Scratch my back, Carter.
So Carter scootched right up to her, careful to keep his blanket wrapped around himself, and carefully tickled her back. Then he soothingly started narrating the storm in a soft, soothing voice, like this:
Carter: Okay, Alana, pretend that those were big cloud giants that are just turning on and off their lights....okay, and now pretend that when the light goes off, they are running around trying to find their gold....oh, and that sound is them running....and when they find their pot of gold, it is chocolate gold coins. yum. ...Pretend that the rain is them turning on and off their faucet...
And by now, my heart was melting. I love these tender sibling moments.
