Our Babymoon!

Steve and I had a weekend retreat together to celebrate our Babymoon--a time we take together to bond and reconnect before the next baby is born. This year was no exception to how much fun we had together!

The highlights:

1. Carter & Addison's time with their Grandmas and Aunts who came over to babysit.

2. Going to the Melting Pot for some officially awesome cheese fondue and flaming turtle chocolate fondue.

3. Seeing Fiddler on the Roof starring Topol, the original and multi-award winning actor who's played Tevye for 40 years.

4. Staying on the TOP FLOOR Corner Suite of the Embassy Suites downtown Chicago with a BEAUTIFUL view of the city, river, and lake, only blocks away from Navy Pier.

5. Sleeping and Waking to our OWN biological clock and NOT that of a 3-year old's!
6. Playing an on-going game of "How well do you know your spouse"--a 100 question survey for the bride and groom. SO FUN (and we're only on question 56) and I'm TOTALLY winning (only by marginal points). We played at the hotel, during breakfast, in the park, while waiting, etc. I relearned that Steve played the cello, and when asked what teacher he thought was the hottest, I guessed "High School English" and EVEN GOT IT RIGHT!

7. Walking cozily together in the rain, under a broken umbrella that CLOSED on us 3 TIMES, and of course, got us SOAKED! Good laughs!

8. Seeing Cirque Shanghai at Navy Pier. We recommend it! The stunts these folks do are incomprehensibly impossible! How DOES her body DO that, I kept saying! And if you didn't know, I took a Circus Arts peforming class while I was a teenager, so it was fun for me to point out to Steve what I "Could" do at one point--like the Spanish Web, my all time favorite!

9. Staying Dry--this was a BIG highlight with all the cold rain outside, and we took it any chance we could (besides, I'm a sucker for indoor gardens).

10. Carter inviting us to go on a trip again for "Lots and lots" of days so that he could play with his Grandmas again. Yeah , we missed you, too, Carter!

I woke up this morning...

We don't have a converter box.

Take THAT cable companies and the US government trying to control our entertainment.

(Somehow, I don't think they're hurting from our choice...or procrastination).
