Staying at the Inn at Irish Hollows has proven to be more than an experience to remember. It is a story to tell and retell for the rest of our lives. It is a memory to call upon when a smile is needed. It is an enchanted place of transformation, for once we’ve tasted of the romance and serenity here, our story will never be the same again.
Our story is of a husband and wife, married for 7 years and still as in love as our wedding day. Our relationship is full of loving surprises. When we left for our honeymoon, my new husband kept the destination a secret. He even got the flight attendants to play along. Everyone on the plane was uplifted by this romantic gesture and enjoyed watching the surprise unfold. Young people wished for what we had. Older couples reminisced on their once-young love while giving us knowing smiles coated with “Just wait, this magic doesn’t last forever…Real Life will set in soon.”
But they clearly did not know my husband. That surprise trip to Mexico was not a one-time occurrence. Since the day we got married, he has showered me with loving surprises to shower me with love. Some are simple, like a rose on Saturday night just because I wasn’t expecting it, to a secret get away for my 30th birthday. And that is what brought us here.
Such romantic plans were made complete by Matthew’s service here at the Inn. We are ever impressed with his kindness and detailed service. He played the roles of host, concierge, and friend with professionalism and compassion. It takes a spectacular team of people to maintain the Inn’scharm and peaceful respect it calls for.
